The University of Navarra, Spain for International Student
November 4, 2019AGNES JOSEPHStudy abroad

The University of Navarra is situated on the southeast border of Pamplona, Spain. Known for its hospitable and welcoming atmosphere, Pamplona also offers a wide range of leisure activities, hops and an exquisite dining tradition curated from quality Navarrese products.

With its location at the heart of Navarre, the city is the perfect spot to soak up the charms of the region. Students are able to make the most of visiting major cities like Bilbao or Zaragoza with ease.

And the appeal doesn’t end there. Pamplona is also known for “San Fermin”, a week-long festival from July 7-14 which may be considered the most internationally renowned party in Spain. The most traditional (and dangerous) activity during San Fermin is the running of the bulls “envierro”, but other folkloric events are also included.

The University of Navarra has been praised in rankings for various elements to the school, namely, 3rd in Teaching Quality by THE Teaching Ranking (2019); 1st University in Research, CYD Ranking; 1st Spanish University in Employability.

Navarra also prides itself on its mentoring competencies:

  • To inform and guide our students when beginning their degree studies.
  • To help them to improve their habits and professional skills.
  • To guide them through their training pathway.
  • To help them to make decisions related to their professional future.

As a Spanish university, the main language of teaching is of course Spanish, however, the university does have an international dimension worth noting:

  • 25.56 percent of the student body is international
  • Academic offerings include bilingual degrees
  • Institute of Modern Languages: Throughout the degree program, students can study and polish their skills in other languages such as German, French, Chinese, Arabic or Russian at the University of Navarra´s Institute of Modern Languages

Over a quarter of the student body are international students (25.56 percent), meaning your university experience will be enriched by meeting people from different cultures and background. This is what university is all about after all, meeting new people and experiencing a different view-point.

Admission

The admissions process will differ depending on whether you are an EU or non-EU student.

EU students don’t require any kind of visa to enter and study in Spain, and don’t require any kind of permit to work in the country.

Non-EU students entering Spain with a student visa, undergoing a course that lasts more than six months need to and may apply for a student card.

The University of Navarra wants to ensure that economic difficulties aren’t a barrier for applicants with academic talent who want to pursue their studies at the university. The Cost and Scholarship Study helps them meet this goal.
